Hakomi Body-Centered Psychotherapy
is central to my orientation as a psychotherapist. Hakomi brings
into focus the role of the body, including intuition, physiology
and all life experiences held in physical memory. We use the information
revealed by the body to inform the therapeutic process and point
the way toward healing. By entering our unconscious via body patterns
we can quickly discover our core beliefs about ourselves and our
world. We can then change those beliefs, as seems appropriate and
desirable. We dont have to live with old beliefs that keep
us stuck or limited.
Internal Family Systems
Therapy is a second strength in my therapeutic approach. This
model recognizes the natural make-up of human beings. IFS acknowledges
that, at our depth, we are completely whole and in possession of
all the wisdom, courage and resilience we need to live from this
space of wholeness. Since most of us feel separated from that whole
sense of self, IFS Therapy contributes specific tools to reunite
us with our True Self.
Advanced Experiential Dynamic
Psychotherapy completes the triad of therapeutic models. In
this approach we concentrate on attachment style and the natural
healing tendencies of all human beings. I believe in the strength
of the therapist-client relationship as a basis for healing to occur.
As I regard my clients with great esteem, our relationship allows
deep exploration, discovery and recovery of the Self. When we are
in touch with the deep place of knowing inside ourselves, the power
and strength that naturally resides in us begins to flourish, changing
how we know ourselves and how we move through the world.
Rolfing: Structural Integration has been my therapeutic foundation
for 22 years. Having worked with many, many people and their bodies,
I am no stranger to strong emotions of all types. I am completely
at home with the language of the body and the intimacy that comes
with very close contact and relating. Through my many years of work,
I have become very comfortable in my own skin and I have learned
how to help others become comfortable in theirs.
